CASE HISTORY
Patient Details:
A 32 yrs old male resident of miryalaguda came to OPD .
Chief Complaints:
Swelling of face & lips,
Difficult in swallowing,
Change in voice
History of present illness:
Patient used to develop symptoms of swelling on and off from past 16 yrs. Patient was reffered to outside hospital immunotherapy in 2011 and treated with some unknown medication and advised precautions against allergy.
Again in 2016,patient presented with same complaints as in 2007 and emergency tracheotomy was done.
Again in 2021,patient with complaints of swelling of face & difficult in breathing was treated with adrenaline, hydrocot.
History of past illness:
No diabetes
No TB
No significant complaints.
Personal History:
Appetite:Normal
Diet:Mixed
Allergies: yes, allergic to garbage, burnt plastic, and allergic to foods like papaya, brinjal, mutton, fish.
Addictions:Alcohol occasionally
Family History:
Not significant complaints.
General Examination:
Conscious, Coperative
Pallor-No
Icterus-No
Cynosis-No
Clubbing-No
Lymphadenopathy-No
Vitals:
Pulse rate-106 bpm
Temp-98.6°F
Respiration-18 cycles per minute
BP-110/70 mm of Hg
SPO2-98%
Systemic Examination:
CVS :
Thrills-No
Cardiac sounds- S1, S2
Cardiac murmurs - No
Respiratory system :
Dyspnoea- No
Wheeze-No
Position of trachea- Central .
Diagnosis:
Angioedema.
Questions from patient:
1.How long does it take to cure?
2.Is there any causes for swelling other than allergic reactions?
3.Is swelling of lips causes throat infection?
